New year, new head of global services for Dell
By Maggie Holland,
Dell has appointed a new face to lead its global services business from next year.
The new leader, Steve Schuckenbrock, will take up the role from January 8 to help the computer giant bite into a bigger chunk of a worldwide services market estimated to be worth around $640 billion.
Prior to this appointment, Schuckenbrock most recently held the position of co-chief operating officer and executive vice president of global sales and services for EDS.
He was also chief information officer at Pepsico and has worked in a number of technology management roles for IBM.
Reporting to chief executive Kevin Rollins, Dell's new senior vice president of global services will also serve as member of the company's global executive management committee.
"Our services business is one of Dell's fastest growing businesses and it is one of our strategic pillars for Dell 2.0," said Rollins.
"Steve has worked as CIO of one of the most recognised brands in the world and as chief operating officer of one of the premier service delivery companies. "We believe his experience as both a customer and a leader of IT services will bring our customers a high level of understanding and innovation."
