Atos Origin checks into IHG with new payment card system

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is rolling out a new business-to-business (B2B) payment card scheme for UK corporate travellers.
The new system, which is being developed by
Atos Worldline, a division of Atos Origin, is aimed at making it easier and more cost effective for business users to pay for their accommodation needs, whether that's for a hotel room, meeting room or conference.
Atos will support the new service offering from application stage, via a web portal and telephone service, through to direct debit processing, database management, card production and dispatch.
The company will also take responsibility for online authorisation of payments and cardholder services such as invoicing and statements in addition to credit and debt management.
IHG owns, manages, leases or franchises more than 3,650 hotels and 540,000 rooms in almost 100 countries around the world, making it the world's biggest hotel group based on number of rooms.
Successful loyalty programme, Priority Club Rewards - which boasts more than 28 million members - is also managed by the IHG.
The new B2B payment card can be used at any Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or Express or Holiday Inn hotel in the UK, as well as the InterContinental on London's Park Lane.
"Implementing this new payment scheme enables our customers to track, analyse and forecast business travel expenditure and provides a reliable line of credit for their employee travellers at all IHG hotels." said Colin Roy, vice president marketing and revenue for IHG in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
"There are no administration fees or set up charges to our customers and through our chosen business partner, Atos Worldline, we have been able to take advantage of creative business models to reduce and rationalise our investment costs in the launch of this product."
