Flood hit companies offered free IT support
By Rene Millman,
Businesses hit by severe flooding in the Midlands and the North of England are to be given free IT and comms support from BT.
The telco has offered support to affected companies struggling to get back on their feet following the freak weather over the last week. It has made its premium BT Assurance Plus service, which it normally charges for, into a free one for the next month to its customers in the region
Customers will be able to use the free service to report faults on telephone lines, broadband and BT Mobile services. The service also provides customers with management of the fault repair, call diversion, handset replacement and a mobile office solution, if required.
Bill Murphy, Managing Director of BT Business, said that the havoc caused by the severe flooding across parts of England has been devastating and more was forecast to come this weekend.
"For businesses affected by flooding, any operational downtime can have a huge impact on their ability to provide a consistent service to their customers," said Murphy. "We want to assure BT Business customers that we will do our utmost to help them get back in business at the earliest opportunity."
Any customer whose IT and communications infrastructure has a fault can call the service free of charge on 0800 990088 and quote "extreme weather offer".
