PatchLink finalises SecureWave deal
By Rene Millman,
Patch management company PatchLink has completed its acquisition of endpoint security company SecureWave. PatchLink paid out an undisclosed sum.
As reported by IT PRO, the deal sees PatchLink acquire SecureWave's endpoint security product Sanctuary, which provides unified policy enforcement for centrally managing and monitoring devices and application against data leakage and malware.
In a statement, the company said the merger will capitalise on the strengths of each company, which it said included asset discovery and inventory, real time vulnerability assessment, patching and remediation, network access control, endpoint control and enterprise compliance reporting.
PatchLink chief executive Pat Clawson said that the merger opened up a new chapter in his company's history.
"This new structure successfully expands our geographic footprint, consolidates enterprise-class solutions and helps us grow our revenue," he said.
Claswon added that PatchLink was now one of the largest privately-held information security companies in the world.
