Datacentre and managed services company TelecityRedbus is to build a new datacentre in Amsterdam.
The new facility will be launched in two phases, each offering 2000 square meters of space. The first phase is expected to come online in the second quarter of next year, with construction of the second expected to be started no later than 2009.
On completion, the Amsterdam facility will be the company's 20th data centre in Europe.
TelecityRedbus chief executive Mike Tobin said that customers were increasingly seeking large and resilient data centres to provide primary hosting, business continuity and disaster recovery services.
"Market trends such as the growth in internet traffic and the evolving needs of business have resulted in growing numbers of new customers and increasing requirements from existing customers, both of which are driving the increase in demand for high-quality data centres," he said.
As reported by IT PRO, the company has invested 50m in building a new datacentre in central London. That site is hoped to be up and running by the second quarter of 2008.
