    Microsoft releases issue-busting Vista hotfixes

Microsoft releases two new hotfixes that address key problems with its latest operating system Windows Vista.

By Barry Collins, 9 Aug 2007 at 09:57

Microsoft has released the Performance and Reliability and the Compatibility and Reliability updates simultaneously on its Windows support site, giving Windows Vista users access to two key hotfixes that address serious bugs in the software giant's latest operating system.

The patches address key issues such as the tardy file-transfer speeds, hibernate and sleep problems, and video card support problems. Memory, printer and user account issues have also been addressed.

As IT PRO's sister title PC Pro reported last month, the beta versions of the hotfixes resulted in a significant performance boost for early testers.

The hotfixes are expected to be rolled into Windows Updates on the next Patch Tuesday. They are also expected to be a prime part of Service Pack 1.
