    Civica wins Glasgow housing deal

A housing management firm has signed a £650,000 deal with Civica to provide a job administration system.

Glaswegian housing administrator City Building has signed a three-year, £650,000 contract with IT services provider Civica for a new housing job management system.

Some 2,000 plumbers, builders, joiners and suppliers will be able to use the Servitor system, using mobile devices to remotely enter maintenance and repair reports regarding the 110,000 homes the firm covers in the Scottish city.

"Because we have our own skilled mobile workforce, we are increasingly winning contracts in the private sector from clients who know that we can be counted on to deliver their housing repairs and maintenance on a 24/7 basis," said John Foley, finance director of City Building, in a statement. "Civica's Servitor system will help us maintain our high quality of work, while ensuring we are reporting correctly to both these new clients and our existing customers."

The system will also send alerts to teams when a building is due for maintenance and allow the firm to track job information such as time to complete and revenue generated.

City Glasgow, formerly the building services department of Glasgow City Council, completes half a million repairs annually for social and private housing.
