Mobyko celebrates one millionth contact milestone
By Maggie Holland,
Mobyko.com, the online mobile contact storage service, which launched earlier this year, is celebrating this week having successfully stored its one millionth contact.
The service, which was created in response to spiraling rates of phones being lost or stolen, enables users to store their mobile address books, texts, pictures and videos so that their data still exists even when their device does not.
Just eight months after it first arrived on the scene, the website is growing in popularity and thousands of contacts are being stored on it each day - rapid growth from the 56,778 contacts that were stored on Mobyko when IT PRO reported on its launch.
"Mobyko's popularity is down to its simplicity and to its universal appeal. The service is quick to use and works across a variety of phones and networks," said Julian Saunders, the company's chief executive. "Our customers are from all walks of life - we're relevant to anyone who has a mobile phone. Mobile phone owners are realising that it's not the plastic that's important - it's what's inside that counts."
