BT signs cabling deal with Bailey Teswaine
By Gary Flood,
BT's Global Services arm has signed a new deal with structured
cabling provider Bailey Teswaine that will see the specialist handle BT's structured cable installations for at least three years.
Structured cabling is a essential component of a range of network IT products BT offers its UK customers. Bailey Teswaine Managed Services already supports a number of BT's biggest corporate clients.
The relationship between the two is more than just one of outsourcing installation. "We go out together on projects to assess if the client needs an infrastructure solution or a managed service," said Bailey Teswaine managing director Tony Henderson. Over 60 Bailey Teswaine employees work at BT full time, for instance.
"The rise of the IP network has resulted in structured cabling that can deliver a broad range of services, is managed centrally, and has the flexibility to adapt as the business changes has become a critical part of a business' infrastructure," said Graham Peacock, product manager, structured cabling and services, BT Global Services.
Bailey Teswaine has also collaborated with BT's research and development facility at Adastral Park on emerging technologies including 10Gb Ethernet connectivity and intelligent infrastructure management.
