O2 expands Xda line with Atmos
By Benny Har-Even,
O2 today expanded its business focussed Xda smartphone range with the launch of the Atmos.
The Atmos is O2's customised rebadge of HTC's S730 and will be available on the network exclusively in black. The Atmos is a Windows Mobile 6-based device with a slide out QWERTY keypad.
In addition though, the Atmos sports a regular numeric keypad, providing the look and feel of a conventional handset, but with the option of a keyboard for when more intense text input is needed, such as writing email. Even so, the Atmos weighs only 130g, including the battery.
The Atmos supports the full range of current connection technologies such as quad-band GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA and Wi-Fi, so connectivity should never be too much of an issue.
Microsoft Direct Push email for Exchange is supported, and the usual Office tools are on board such as mobile versions of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Also included is a 2-megapixel camera at the rear and a front facing camera for video calling.
Ben Dowd, Business Sales Director, O2 UK, said, "The O2 Xda range goes from strength to strength with the new Xda Atmos. It is ideal for business users who require the familiarity of Windows on the move in a sleek and powerful device."
The O2 Xda Atmos is available at the O2 online store now at a range of prices subject to tariff.
