Oracle to issue massive set of patches

Two critical patches targeting vulnerabilities in Oracle's database software feature highly in a bumper set of patches the vendor said it would issue next Tuesday.
Of the 41 security fixes it is set to issue, the two database vulnerabilities stood out as they have been given the highest, 'critical' rank and can be exploited over a network without a username and password. They are part of 17 database fixes overall, affecting versions 9i, 10g, and 11g.
Oracle's E-business suite is due to be the second most patched system, with 11 updates.
In the details from the Critical Patch Update (CPU) notice, Oracle said the changes would affect its Advance Pricing, Application Object Library, Applications Framework, Applications Manager and Applications Technology stack components among others.
Oracle's Application Server and PeopleSoft products will be the subject of three patches each, while Siebel SimBuilder and Enterprise Manager software were also earmarked for patches to be issued as part of next week's CPU.
Oracle will release its April 2008 CPU on Tuesday, 15 April.
