Garden centre goes green for conferencing
By Miya Knights,
Wyevale Garden Centres has signed up for new audio conferencing technology to manage weekly management meetings.
The new web interface from Ring2 will allow the largest UK garden centre chain, with 100 locations nationwide, to schedule and manage calls for its weekly meetings while also saving on travel time and expense.
The service allows centre managers to schedule calls and manage them live, in real-time. They can also access call recordings o- demand. It is the only UK service to enable in-call control from BlackBerry and Windows Mobile systems.
"Ring2's web-based monitoring and control interface saves time and is making our conference calls much more efficient," said Peter Brigden, Wyevale's retail director. "The service also fits perfectly with our 'Going Green' campaign, encouraging our employees to conference call rather than travel to a meeting."
Brigden added an additional benefit is that the garden centre is now saving 25 per cent of the cost of audio conferencing provided by its previous supplier.
The new service also allows users and personal assistants to integrate conference calling details automatically with Outlook email and calendar invitations, retrieve archived calls as MP3 files and manage call scheduling on behalf of other users. At the same time, it can assign billing codes to each call for client disbursement or accounting purposes.
Wyevale said this new level of control would enable visibility, security and control over conference calls for their more effective use in future.
