6 . To restore a backup image, you have to run the restore routine from outside Windows. This is sensible, as one of the main reasons for wanting to keep a Complete PC Backup is in case Windows breaks and won't run. You start the restore by running your Windows Vista boot disk. If your PC isn't set to start from a CD or DVD, you may have to change the settings in your computer's BIOS. Pressing Delete during start-up usually gets you into the BIOS management screens. Look for the option to change boot settings. Once you've put CD/DVD at the top of the boot list, restart the PC and wait for the Windows installation routine to reach its starting menu.
