LogMeIn connection tools
Use the toolbar at the top of the remote connection window to pick a specific resolution, colour bit depth, zoom and graphics quality, depending on how fast your connection is; you can also set the connection speed. Leaving these on the defaults gives you fair-quality graphics but with noticeable banding on gradients; setting the graphics quality and network speed to the highest levels gives you a much better image but even if you switch to full-screen view it's not quite the same quality as sitting in front of the other PC.
