Create a profile
You can jump straight in to a Netviewer session, but if you start with the Profile manager you can pick which options you want to see when you make a connection; remove any tools you don’t want on-screen to confuse end users. You can have multiple profiles for different purposes. Click the Configure link next to System diagnostics to see what information you can retrieve from a remote system: click the Preview on button to see the system information from your own PC. This is much faster than guiding a user through finding and running the SysInfo tool and mailing you the results – and the user always gets a prompt so they don’t feel you’re snooping on them. If you’re doing first line support and you only need basic details you can reduce what you see; and if you need to troubleshoot a specific or custom application, you can choose specific files and registry keys to get details on. If there are a lot of application-specific details you need, you can import these as an XML file.
