Toshiba has expanded its Tecra range of laptops with two new business focussed machines, the A10 and M10.

Both are based on Intel’s recently launched Centrino 2 platform and ship with Windows Vista Business.

Each integrate Intel’s vPro technology for easy remote management combined with Toshiba’s own Easyguard solution. This offers finger-print recognition via the integrated Trusted Platform Module and, according to the company, also offers hardware-based filtering of malicious network attacks.

The 2.8Kg Tecra A10 forms part of Toshiba’s everyday business range and is available with a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz), P8400 (2.26GHz) or T5670 (1.8GHz), 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB hard disk and a 15in display. Prices start at £499 excluding VAT.

The lighter Tecra M10 comes in a 2.4Kg, and offers a choice of P9400 (2.53GHz), P8400 (2.26GHz) or T5670 (1.8GHz) Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The memory complement starts at 3GB along with the 250GB hard disk and 14in display. Prices start at £549.
