Dell Inspiron Mini 9 available free on Vodafone

The mobile phone network giant will resell Dell’s netbook with a mobile broadband dongle built-in.

Vodafone has announced that it will be reselling Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 netbook from October.

The company confirmed that when purchased with a 24-month mobile broadband contract the netbook will be available free. It will also come pre-fitted with a Vodafone SIM card and integrated dongle, differing from the standard Inspiron Mini 9 spec.

The tie-up with Dell was originally announced earlier this month.

Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 is the latest in a long line of budget, internet focused laptops, but the first from the world’s number two computer supplier. It offers a built-in webcam, Bluetooth, SSD drive, and a 8.9-inch 1,024 x 600 glossy LED display and weighs in a just 1.035kg.

Vodafone claims that battery life will be further improved by using a built-in mobile broadband card, rather than an external USB port.
