Nokia is to cut hundreds of jobs as part of organisational changes.
The handset maker said that 450 employees in its markets unit would be affected, while the Nokia Research Centre would "sharpen its focus on fewer but stronger research areas," affecting 130 employees.
The firm will also cull 35 Finnish employees from its global process operations.
"Our aim is to find alternative work within Nokia for as many employees as possible," said Juha krs, senior vice president of human resources at Nokia.
The changes will come into effect on 1 January, 2009. Nokia is also closing a site in Turku, Finland, but expects no job cuts.
