Asus has today launched what it claimed is the “world’s fastest business PDA phone in the world” with the P565.

The new phone was launched today in Japan and, although European availability and pricing remains unconfirmed, it has been designed as the first smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1 with an 800MHz processor.

The new model also features a 2.8-inch touchscreen and HSDPA connectivity up to 3.6Mbps, UMTS 2100 and EDGE/GPRS/GSM 900/1800/1900 connectivity, as well as a USB port.

It also includes 256MB of flash memory and 128 MB of DDR SDRAM, as well as Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR.

Other features include a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus, GPS and a microSD memory card with SDHC support.

The phone measures 102 x 60.5 x 16mm and weighs 120g. Asus claimed it would have a talk time of three hours and a minimum 250 hours worth of standby power.
