AVG mistakes Adobe file for malware

AVG barely makes its apologies for a previous mistake when news comes that another file is mistaken for malware.

By Asavin Wattanajantra, 18 Nov 2008 at 13:53

The AVG anti-virus program has once again mistaken files for malware, this time one connected to Adobe Flash.

Some users on the AVG forums had reported that a file connected with Adobe Flash was detected by AVG scanning software as malicious.

The software thought that the flash installation executable file was in fact the trojan PSW.Generic6.AQPD and requested its deletion.

Both the free and full versions of AVG 7.5 and 8 were affected, but a replacement update was released within hours of the original update.

It comes only a week after the AVG anti-virus software deleted a crucial Windows file which stopped some Europeans' Windows XP’s systems from booting up.

AVG has already offered users affected by the previous Windows file problem a free year’s subscription or upgrade extension.

My PC is running like new.

I was having trouble with my new computer running slow after I had only had it for a few months. I was upset thinking it was something wrong with my computer until I realized that I needed a good scan to clean out those bugs and viruses that was the real problem. When I started using Search-and-destroy Antispyware it took care of this problem and now my PC is running like new again. The antispyware solution from Search-and-destroy, which you can find at http://www.Search-and-destroy.com/antispyware.html, has made a big difference for me and I’m sure you’ll be happy with it too.
