T-Mobile takes up Option
By Benny Har-Even,
Option, the Dutch manufacturer of wireless mobile dongles, has announced that T-Mobile UK is adding its Option USB wireless modem to its line up.
The iCon 431 is a HSUPA capable modem that can download at speeds up to 7.2Mbps and upload at 5.7Mbps. It's tri-band capable on the 900, 1,900 and 21,00Mhz frequencies, ensuring worldwide compatibility.
T-Mobile will be marketing it in the UK as the Mobile Broadband USB Stick 530. T-Mobile's service currently supports up to 4.5Mbps and uploads up to 1.4Mbs.
It's plug and play with drivers that autoload as you insert it, and also contains a micro-SD card slot enabling it to become a storage device of up to 8GB.
"Option has supplied data cards to T-Mobile UK over the years," said Jan Callewaert, chief executive of Option. "We're delighted that now our USB modems will contribute to the continued success of T-Mobile's mobile broadband proposition in Europe."
