Less typing for URLs
When you start typing into the Internet Explorer 8 address bar, Autocomplete doesn’t only look at the beginning of URLs, so you don’t have to bother with the www in front of everything any more. Instead, it uses Windows Desktop Search to look at URLs you've visited before, as well as URLs in your bookmarks and RSS feeds, on the grounds that you’re more likely to be going to a site you've been to before. If users don’t see this behavior, check whether they have Windows Desktop Search installed.
The address bar highlights the domain in blue with these suggestions but when you visit a page the domain is in black with the rest of the URL in grey. That’s to make sure any phishing pages don’t look like the official site.
