Installing the VM
Once you’ve installed Virtual PC, install the XP Mode virtual machine. You’ll be asked to define an installation location (it’s worth sticking with the default) It’ll also needs a user name and password, so Windows 7 can launch and run XP applications automatically. Use the default user account that XP Mode automatically creates, and choose to save the password you give it so it will launch on demand, without you typing in a password every time you want to launch an XP application.
