4 . Running the install

Installing the VM and setting it up won’t take too long – and you’ll get some basic tips whilst it’s doing so. The release candidate installer is much more attractive process than the beta, and it also installs on machines that the earlier version failed on. The XP VM is already licensed (so there’s no need to activate), and the software needed for desktop integration is already loaded. However there’s still some configuration to do once the installation is complete.

Ubuntu with WINE

Surely WINE in Linux is more efficient at running basic Windows apps? Running an entire VM seems a little unnecessary.
