Twitter trials real-time search in user accounts

Twitter is looking to make it easier for its users to search for the real-time thoughts of people and organisations around the world.

The micro-blogging website is now testing Twitter Search and Trends on the signed-in home pages of a limited set of accounts.

Co-founder Biz Stone said only accounts that chose to be publicly accessible would be included in Twitter Search, but added that this was more than 90 per cent of users.

He said on the official Twitter blog: "It seems that people, companies and organisations are discovering there is value in openness."

"We're looking forward to a full launch once a bunch of us have kicked the tires a bit," he added.

Recently, Twitter received more funding from venture capitalists believing in its potential as a money making operation.
