Video: VMware and Intel explain virtual desktops

One of the bigger announcements at this week’s VMworld Europe in Cannes has been VMware’s partnership with Intel on virtualised desktops.
VMware used the show to push its new client virtualisation platform, which includes a desktop hypervisor which will be used alongside Intel’s vPro technology to offer “thick client” devices optimised for handling virtual machines.
In the video clip, chief executive Paul Maritz and Intel’s vice president of its business client group Gregory Bryant discuss the plan on the stage at the show.
