    O2 introduces 24-month iPhone tariff

From April, the iPhone 3G will be available on a new 24-month contract from O2.

By Jennifer Scott, 23 Mar 2009 at 12:21

O2 has announced a new 24 month tariff option for iPhone customers that will be available from 3 April in the UK.

The new tariffs mean the 8GB iPhone 3G will be available for free at £34.26 per month, and the 16GB iPhone 3G will be available for free at £44.05 per month.

Peter Rampling, marketing director at Telefónica O2 UK, said: “The iPhone has been hugely popular with over one million units sold in the UK. This new 24 month tariff option will meet the demand of customers who are looking for added value in exchange for committing to a longer contract.”

Customers who take out the contract will continue to receive the usual extras available from an iPhone tariff, including visual voicemail, unlimited UK data and unlimited access to over 9,500 public Wi-Fi hotspots - provided by The Cloud and BT Openzone.

The tariff will be available through O2, Apple and Carphone Warehouse.
