Mozilla fixes nine flaws in its Firefox browser

Mozilla has released an update that fixes nine security vulnerabilities in the Firefox browser.
The Firefox 3.0.9 update rated one of the flaws as ‘critical’, as crashes showed evidence of memory corruption.
Mozilla said that, with effort, the flaw could have allowed an attacker to run code and install software without the user doing anything.
Other issues fixed included a flaw where a corrupt local database caused Firefox to “lose” its stored cookies and where inline image attachments on services like AOL would not display.
Mozilla said that it strongly recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to the latest release, which is done automatically if they already have Firefox 3.
