Microsoft releases BizTalk server 2009
By Jennifer Scott,
Microsoft has released its BizTalk Server 2009 this week - the sixth in the BizTalk line - at the same price as previous editions.
The frozen-price server is now available to Microsoft Developer Network customers and will be made publicly available on 1 May.
Dan Neault, general manager of Microsoft SQL Server and BizTalk Server, said: “In today’s economy, it is more important than ever for Microsoft to deliver innovation that drives immediate customer value.”
“With BizTalk Server 2009, Microsoft has delivered an enterprise-ready scalable platform that enables our customers across the globe to more efficiently connect processes, systems and data, which is critical to reducing costs and enabling informed business decisions across their organisations.”
The four editions - Enterprise, Standard, Branch, and Developer - support the latest Microsoft application platform technologies such as Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.
The server has RFID capabilities, Applications Lifecycle Management, “enhanced” Business Activity Monitoring and runs with Hyper-V technology for those who are interested in virtualisation.
