Adobe boosts UK prices 10 per cent
By Nicole Kobie,
Adobe’s Creative Suite 4 line will jump 10 per cent in price next month – but only in the UK.
The Creative Suite 4 (CS4) line includes Photoshop, which will leap in price from its current £485 (plus VAT) to £534 on 1 July, while the price of Design Premium CS4 increase from £1,249 to £1,372.
While UK buyers are being asked to cough up, European customers will see their prices drop 13 per cent.
Adobe blamed the price increase on the recession and fluctuations between the pound and the euro. “Adobe seeks to price consistently across Europe to the extent that circumstances and market conditions make this possible,” the software firm said in a statement.
“The current economic environment and currency fluctuations have made this challenging. This change to the CS4 pricing is intended to realign the UK with other European countries,” Adobe added.
While the pricing might “realign” UK customers with their European counterparts, it will leave us paying significantly more than American buyers.
