Orange has denied making a bid for struggling mobile company T-Mobile.

It was thought that T-Mobile, the UK arm of German company Deutsche Telekom, would have to be sold, or at least merged, to survive, following its dire results at the start of the month, but rumours at the time centred on 3 as the main contender.

The Guardian[/i] reported this morning that Orange had made a bid for the firm and was turned down.

T-Mobile refused to comment however Orange told IT PRO: "We have not made an offer on T-mobile. And what's more we have not been approached to make such an offer"
