Travellers flying out of Terminal 4 with any of the SkyTeam’s 10 alliance partner airlines are now able to enjoy free Wi-Fi thanks to a three-year deal with BT Openzone.

The free Wi-Fi will be available from the new SkyTeam alliance lounge at Terminal 4 and doesn't require a voucher for access.

“Wi-Fi is essential for business and leisure travellers wanting to be productive or relax online before their flights”, said Chris Bruce, BT Openzone's general manager, in a statement.

The SkyTeam alliance airlines include Air France, Alitalia, Continental and KLM.

BT claims that it has seen huge demand for Wi-Fi in the leisure and hospitality sector, boasting 190,000 hotspots in the UK and Ireland. It recently added Starbucks to its roster, evicting incumbent T-Mobile.
