Vodafone today unveiled a telecoms management service, claiming it will help businesses to reduce costs and simplify processes.

The new service, simply entitled Vodafone Telecoms Management, will let bosses monitor both their firm’s fixed and mobile telecoms spend online.

It is managed by Vodafone Global Enterprise which looks after the multinational companies involved with Vodafone.

In a statement, Nick Jeffery, director of Vodafone Global Enterprise, said: “In this tough economic environment our customers are urgently seeking ways to reduce cost and simplify their processes.”

He added: “Very few global organisations have a complete and accurate view of their fixed and mobile telecoms landscape. Our telecoms management service has been developed in direct response to this need.”

Other features in the new service package include the ability to secure, lock and remotely wipe mobiles and to view the company’s current contract statuses. There is also a “self-service” portal for employees.

“We are talking to customers now and the service is being targeted at a list of 270 named customers," A Vodafone spokesperson told IT PRO.
