Week in numbers: iPhone 3GS sales
By Richard Goodwin,
This week in the tech world, the iPhone 3GS silenced critics with its massive initial sales, mobile web activity goes through the roof, and IT executives across the sector experience salary decreases.
Four per cent - the decline in salary for IT executives over the past year, according to a survey conducted by Experteer.co.uk.
40 per cent - the percentage of Blackberry users who said they would willingly trade in their device for an iPhone.
150,000 - the number of Palm Pre units that analysts estimate have been shipped since the phone’s release in June - a definite improvement on last year’s performance, which saw Palm make losses of £26.3 million.
One million - the amount of iPhone 3Gs Apple shifted in just three days following its UK release on 19 June.
£1.1 million - the cost savings Standard Life made by upgrading its Kodak scanning fleet to let it automate its document indexing.
9.6 billion - the total number of web pages viewed in a single month by Opera Mini’s 25.4 million users.
