Acronis increases portfolio for SMBs with new backup and recovery
By Jennifer Scott,
Acronis has today launched its new portfolio of disaster recovery products aimed at the high end SMB market.
Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 is software that works for both virtual and physical environments. It features de-duplication, which the company claims can cut storage capacity needs by up to 90 per cent, and a more affordable price point.
Laurent Dedenis, vice president of International Sales for Acronis, told IT PRO: “We have moved upmarket from our consumer products to offer this to businesses. Normally this technology was only open to larger companies because of cost but this software solution changes that.”
“We used to make products for tens of servers and hundreds of workstations, now we have moved up to hundred of servers and thousands of workstations.”
The Backup and Recovery 10 can restore both Microsoft and Linux servers, as well as workstations using disk imaging technology. It also includes centralised management tools, automated back up and assists in physical to virtual migration.
Prices range from £41 for a single workstation up to £639 for an advanced server version. For the de-duplication option, prices start at £16 and rise to £136 per server.
