Female IT executives get paid more than their male peers despite massive gender bias in pay across nearly all sectors of the UK economy.

A report published this week by Experteer claimed that senior female IT workers can expect a better deal in their pay packets, particularly when compared to the media sector where female executives are paid 34 per cent less than their male peers.

“The IT sector is the most female friendly, with women paid two per cent more than men, and progressing to the top roles a year younger,” claimed the report.

Across the sector, however, female IT workers tend to be younger and paid an average of £6,000 less than their male counterparts, the report said.
