Dell has again struggled this quarter posting a large drop in profit, but the fall is still a lot better than its previous quarterly results.

Dell has made another significant loss this quarter, although the numbers have still beaten expectations.

The company’s net profits were reported in its latest quarterly results as $472 million (£289 million), down 23 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Revenues also fell by 22 per cent, totalling $12.8 billion in this second quarter.

However these figures are an improvement over its last results where the company announced a drop in net income of 63 per cent.

This in turn led to job cuts worldwide of almost 9,000 employees.

Dell has mainly felt the pinch from its PC sales, as the market continues to fall due to the recession.

However, the significant improvement on income revenues led to a rise in shares of seven per cent yesterday, showing that confidence in the company is beginning to trickle back into the market.
