Mozilla has unveiled its Firefox plans for the next year in a draft document.

Mozilla is planning to have the next major upgrade - Firefox 4 - available by the third or fourth quarter of next year.

It will feature a new "extensibility" platform called JetPack and a new user interface across all platforms. Firefox 4 will also be the first to offer the Weave browser sync. As ever, Mozilla is promising the upgrade will be even faster, because of tweaks to the TraceMonkey engine.

Mozilla also laid out roll out plans for the next two minor upgrades. Firefox 3.6 will arrive by the end of this year alongside the first release of mobile browser Fennec. Click here for more on the features expected for Firefox 3.6.

Firefox 3.7 and Fennec 1.1 will arrive by the first or second quarter of 2010.
