HTC Hero firmware update available

HTC Hero

HTC has released a new firmware update for its Google Android-based Hero handset.

The 2.73.405.5 ROM update is now available on its UK website following its roll out across Europe.

The main aim of the update is to speed up the phone's performance, but it also includes a new feature enabling the user to touch the screen to focus on a particular area when taking a photo.

The installation should take about 10 minutes, with the update being downloaded from HTC's website. However, it is only compatible with Microsoft operating systems.
