Vodafone 360 launched today

Vodafone today unveiled a new set of internet services with a focus on social media.

Named Vodafone 360, the service will enable users to access more than 1,000 apps from the Vodafone shop. The apps are compatible with a range of manufacturer’s mobiles and platforms, including two new devices designed by Samsung specifically to use the new apps.

In addition to the applications, 360 offers a consolidation of your address book, enabling users to link up their phone contacts to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well as messaging services like MSN and GoogleTalk.

Pieter Knook, director of Internet Services at Vodafone Group, said in a statement: “The beauty of Vodafone 360 is that all the services work together and they are easy to use. Vodafone 360 enables customers’ digital lives.”

He added: “Customers can stay in touch and share experiences through social networks, instant messaging, email, apps, maps, music and buying digital content on their mobile bill, with the personalised address book at its heart.”

The service is also automatically backed up and synced wirelessly with the user's computer and is compatible with both PCs and Macs.
