Adobe and McAfee have announced that they will partner globally to jointly develop security software for their customers.

They plan to create a combined Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Enterprise Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution that can “expand the reach of data protection beyond the enterprise boundaries.”

“We are excited about the potential that this partnership can bring to our joint customers and partners,” said Gerhard Watzinger, general manager of McAfee’s data protection business unit, in a statement.

“Both McAfee and Adobe serve millions of consumers and the world’s largest enterprises. By combining efforts in the way information is handled and secured, our customers’ data will be secured.”

The partnership will also see McAfee Security Scan available as an optional download to customers installing Adobe Reader and Flash software.
