HTC has confirmed that its HD2 handset, based on just-launched Windows Phone 6.5, will be available in Europe later this month.

Fresh from making its customisation-focused interface available on the Android-based HTC Hero last month, the company has now taken the wraps its first Windows Mobile-powered handset to feature the Sense technology.

The ultra-thin handset will feature a 4.3in capacitive screen, something Microsoft believes will enhance the user experience when it comes to the Windows Phone OS.

“At HTC we believe that the best things in life should be experienced, not explained. HTC Sense is based on this principle by making the phone more simple and natural to use and by enabling people to personalise their mobile experience in their own unique way,” Peter Chou, HTC’s chief executive said in a statement.

“With HTC Sense, the HTC HD2 melds the power and flexibility of the Windows platform with the most advanced phone we’ve ever created.”
