Oracle also announced a developer preview of Oracle Application Development Framework Mobile Client, which it said would help developers to extend their existing enterprise applications onto mobile devices.

Because the client is Java-based, developers would be able to 'build once' and extend their app onto a number of different devices including BlackBerry and Windows mobile phones, according to Oracle.

Content management

Another announcement saw Oracle discuss document and content management, which it said it had improved through tighter integration between its tools. The company claimed that it was now providing users of its applications with content management tools that will make paper and electronic documents searchable and manageable.

"When your employees can’t see critical enterprise documents like invoices, customer agreements and product specifications while they are working in their CRM and ERP applications, they can feel like they are flying blind,” said Andy MacMillan, vice president of product management at Oracle, introducing the tools.
