Job cuts

Adobe has confirmed it will be cutting nearly 700 jobs to reduce the company’s expenses.

Exactly 680 jobs will be lost, representing nearly 10 per cent of its 7,000 strong global workforce.

This comes just two months after the company paid out $1.8 billion (£1 billion) to acquire analytics firm Omniture - although Adobe has confirmed none of the job cuts would come from this new area of the business.

However, It is likely to be stung with a pre-tax restructuring charge between $65 million and $71 million.

A spokesperson from Adobe told IT PRO: "Adobe is restructuring its business to align costs with its fiscal 2010 operating plan and budget, the company’s three-year strategic priorities and the realities of the business environment, as well as to ensure its ability to continue investing in long-term growth opportunities."
