A buyer's guide to the top 10 smartphones
By Maggie Holland,
This handset needs little explanation. It takes all we loved about the first generation Bold and adds to it.
A sleek design and equally sleek features set and OS to match has resulted in the Bold 9700 being crowned as our favourite RIM device to date. And we’re not easily pleased so that says a lot.

The Touch Pro2 blends style and substance, with HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface hiding the quirks of Windows Mobile from users who just want to get on and enjoy its features.
It’s a bit hefty but that’s a small sacrifice for the juice you get out of the battery. Our hard-to-please reviewer gave it five out of six so it clearly is the sort of phone that’s going to deliver what it says on the tin.

Omission
grafix: Thanks for your comment. We wouldn't disagree that the Samsung i8910 HD is a quality smartphone, but we had to make the cut somewhere on our top 10. Had we had an 'others to consider' section, this would have definitely made it in. That's something we'll certainly bear in mind for other buyers' guides. Thanks, Maggie

Apple comes out on top..
Of all the smartphones and 'iPhone killers', having used a few of these handsets, I think Apple still comes out on top by offering the most user friendly and sleek user interface. This aspect of the phone use makes a huge difference on day to day use.
