Orange unveils new connected laptops for SMEs
By Maggie Holland,
Orange has unveiled two new 3G laptops and dongles aimed at consumers and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who want to be more connected on the move.
The Asus 1005HGO and the Compaq CQ61 both sport Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 7, with the latter also coming with an exclusive Orange embedded SIM card, 10.1" screen and a webcam. The Compaq unit boasts an Orange e1752 dongle, web cam, DVD player and 15.6" screen.
“These new mobile broadband devices provide both our consumers and small and medium-sized business customers with the latest technology and best value for money," said François Mahieu, Orange UK's director of devices, in a statement.
"We will continue to build on these offerings throughout 2010 to ensure our customers benefit from one of the most competitive product portfolios in the UK.”
Those opting to buy the new laptops, which are complemented by a range of data price plans, will benefit from Orange's 93 per cent 3G coverage in the UK, according to the mobile giant.
Orange also unveiled two new dongles, in the form of the e1752 - which the new Compaq model comes with - and the Option 515M.
