Virgin Media doubles mobile broadband speed

Following its strides in fixed line super fast broadband, Virgin Media has now released a mobile broadband offering double its previous speed.

Virgin Media has launched a new mobile broadband offering, claiming to give a high-speed connection to its users.

The new USB modem will offer 7.2Mbps, double the speed of its previous model, on a range of contracts.

Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile at Virgin Media, said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to be offering this faster mobile broadband to our users. If you’re not at home or near a wireless connection, mobile broadband is the best way of staying connected on the move.”

Customers have the options of a one month rolling contract or a full 18 months with a choice of either 1GB or 3GB data limits per month.

Monthly payments range from £10 to £15 with the USB modem costing either £24.99 on the 1GB rolling contract or £49.99 with all other options.

The new tariffs and speeds are available immediately.
