Twitter is trying to keep its on the move tweeters happy by introducing a new interface for its mobile site.

Leland Rechis, head of user experience on the Twitter Mobile team, announced on the site’s blog that his team has built a new web client from scratch based only on Twitter APIs.

The post said: “Lots of people access Twitter on their phones via our good ol’ mobile website, and trusty ‘m’ has been delivering tweets faithfully. However, ‘m’ doesn’t fully feel like Twitter, and could probably do a bit more things for you.”

The new website is previewing from today and works best on WebKit browsers. However, BlackBerry users will have to wait a little longer while the team does some “fine tuning.”

After the preview stage is complete everyone will be switched over to the new mobile client and Rechis concluded that the team looked forward to “sharing more cool things with you soon.”
