A release candidate (RC) version of Microsoft Office 2010 has apparently been sent out to a select group of testers, with no plans to extend it any wider.

A Microsoft spokesperson told CNet.com: "Microsoft made a release candidate available to members in the technology adoption program (TAP)."

The statement added: "This is one of Microsoft's planned milestones in the engineering process; however [we] do not have plans to make this new code set available broadly."

Microsoft unveiled a technical preview over the summer, followed by a widely available public beta in December. Office 2010 is set to arrive by June, but pricing for the UK has yet to be announced.
