Apple iPhone app development tips
Before effectively green-lighting an idea, there needs to be some consideration of whether there’s space for it within the App Store, in a commercial sense. Currently housing just under 150,000 apps – a figure that’s only going to rise – there’s a good chance that any idea has already been extensively covered, unless it’s the content of an app itself that is unique.
Carefully planning content is of top importance too. Although Apple’s approvals team only has a matter of minutes to check over each application submitted to the App Store, any significant breach of Apple’s criteria will see an app rejected.
It is also possible that a notice of rejection will not include all issues the approvals team has with the application, which can lead to multiple rejections, delaying an app’s release by several months.

You need a Mac!
One important point is that the iPhone SDK is only available for Apple Mac's, since it uses XCode. This adds an extra learning curve if you are not used to Objective C and Cocoa.
